Dysregulation of the Nervous System

Grayson

When Grayson first joined us, he was facing a lot of challenges—constant frustration, anger, behavioral struggles, and trouble focusing. 😞 His mom shared that his history involved pregnancy stress, birth interventions, difficulty breastfeeding, and recurring ear infections.

We knew Grayson’s nervous system was stuck in a state of sympathetic overwhelm, meaning he was in “fight or flight” mode far too often. This was holding him back from reaching his full potential in learning, behavior, and even sports. 🧠💥

Now, even though he’s early in his care plan, the changes have been remarkable! 🙌 Grayson is already getting better reports from school, with big improvements in his focus and learning. 📚 He’s having fewer outbursts at home and is excelling in sports—showing us just how much potential was hidden under all that stress. 💪⚽

It’s so exciting to watch Grayson’s body move out of stress mode, allowing him to thrive! We know this is just the beginning, and we cannot wait to see the even bigger changes on the way. 🚀 Grayson, we are beyond proud of you! Keep up the amazing work! 🎉

Cullen

When Cullen first came to us, he was struggling with emotional instability, poor mood regulation, frequent meltdowns, and social challenges 😢. It was a daily struggle for him to get through school and evenings without having major difficulties. His mom often saw glimpses of her calm child but didn't know how to help make that his norm.

Cullen's nervous system was stuck on stress 🚨. The sympathetic side of his nervous system was overreactive, causing him to have heightened reactions to his environment. When stress is stuck on, you respond as if you are in a survival situation, even when you're not. In school, this looked like acting out or not following directions, but in reality, Cullen was responding to a perceived stressful environment 🌪️.

Through our comprehensive neurological scans 🧠, we identified the stress points in Cullen's nervous system. We developed a customized care plan tailored specifically to his needs. It was a bumpy ride as Cullen progressed through his care plan, with lots of highs and lows 🎢. But his mom was determined to help him, and Cullen stuck to his care plan.

From the very first adjustments, we began to see changes. Cullen started to have better mood regulation and fewer meltdowns. He became more calm and easier to reason with. As we continued with regular adjustments, the improvements kept coming. Cullen's reports from school improved 📚, and he was able to follow directions better and respond more appropriately to his environment.

One of the most rewarding transformations was seeing Cullen become a happier child overall 😊. Evenings became more calm, and he seemed so much more at ease. The benefits of sticking to his care plan were worth it!

Cullen's story is a testament to the power of addressing the root causes of emotional and social challenges through Neurologically-Focused Chiropractic Care 🌟. By focusing on his nervous system, we helped him transition from a state of constant stress to one of healing and thriving 🌱. Now, Cullen is a calmer, happier, and more stable child, bringing joy and peace to his family and school life.

Lucy

👧🏻 Lucy came to us struggling with ADHD, poor focus, classroom troubles, and constant battles with her parents. Her mom was determined not to put her back on medications for the school year, so they sought help at New Hope Chiropractic.

🔍 Through regular care, we aimed to help Lucy heal and balance her nervous system. The Vagus nerve, often referred to as the "air traffic controller" of the autonomic nervous system, plays a crucial role in the Parasympathetic system (calming, healing, growing, sleeping, eating, digesting).

🧠 When stress is stuck on, it means the sympathetic side of the nervous system is in overdrive, keeping the body in survival mode. This constant state of stress can make a child fidgety when still, need stimulation during quiet times, and have difficulty focusing—symptoms that mimic ADHD.

💊 The typical medical response to ADHD is stimulant medication. However, giving an overstimulated child more stimulation doesn't address the root cause. Instead, their brain needs structured information to better understand their environment. Medication was never meant to be a long-term solution and often doesn’t solve the underlying problem.

✨ Lucy's scans showed her Vagus nerve and nervous system were overwhelmed and stressed, hindering her ability to calm, heal, and focus. This constant state of sympathetic dominance bombarded her brain with stress signals, making it harder to pay attention and perform well in school.

🙌 Through our care, Lucy's nervous system began to heal, shifting the balance from sympathetic overdrive to parasympathetic calm. She started to focus better, follow directions, and thrive at school without ADHD medication. Her Vagus nerve is now more balanced, reducing the stress signals to her brain. The results? A calmer, more organized, and in-control Lucy, who can now be herself.

🎉 We're thrilled to see Lucy's transformation and look forward to supporting her continued progress. Her story highlights the importance of addressing the underlying issues to help children thrive.
